I popped into my favourite local second hand shop the other day to have poke around. I often go without looking for anything in particular, just to see what I can find. One thing I feel like I can always come away with from these visits is vintage art. I really like the frames the paintings are often in and I also love the paintings themselves. The fact that they are usually original paintings appeals to me too. It makes them a bit more unique and I think when they are used in an interior they add instant charm and style. I have built up a good personal collection now and have used vintage art in a few of my projects. Below are a couple of photos of some of my own.

I think some of the best places for vintage art are in kitchens and bathrooms. I guess generally speaking they are more unexpected in these rooms, which most likely adds to the appeal of them being there. Add a picture light above them and you have a star of the show.
