Rugs Rugs Rugs...

Hey!

I’ve been thinking about how much I like using rugs in a space. It ‘s to the point now that I feel like many rooms feel a bit naked without one. It adds a layer and additional texture to a room and once you start noticing this, it’s hard to un-see it in every room you look at.

What if the room has carpet?….doesn’t matter, it breaks up all that carpet (unless you have a bold pattern on your carpet of course). What if its in the bathroom? - great, I love a rug in a bathroom. Creates a little bit of softness and can help bring more colour and interest in. What about under the dining table with food dropping on it? - get something with pattern to hide the food and the crumbs. You won’t need to clean up after every meal the same way you might without one. Kitchen - absolutely. Your kids could throw up on it and you can clean it off and you’d never know…(too far?).

My go to rug is a vintage or vintage inspired Turkish rug. This works in a modern home and a traditional home and I think elevates a room every time. Think overdyed, neutral turkish or persian, bright turkish or persian….there are loads that are insanely beautiful.

So the funny thing is that not many of my clients have these in their home before they start working with me. I’m trying to change that one client at a time…because they are beautiful and practical and will last your lifetime (and maybe your kids too). I am curious though as to what you think about these types of rugs and if you think you could see one in your home too?
